In "A Collision Of Truths" I report that we never heard from the police again after my father's memorial service which was held in the Methodist Church next door to the 32nd Precinct headquarters in Harlem just down the street from my father's store where he was murdered. And, until "Collision" was published, we still were in the dark as to who might have been responsible for his bludgeoning. But, thanks to my son, Jeff (who has his own chapter in "Collision"), who telephoned the NYPD after reading "Collision," the NYPD has re-opened the case. We've discovered that the NYPD is a very different organization today from the one that existed in 1972. It's early days in the re-opening. But, at the suggestion of the NYPD, Jeff and I have been to New York, talked at length with Det. Ed Clifford of Manhattan Homicide North, done some rsearch. More to come.
